SAFe® for Architects Certification

The course is designed to provide Architects with the skills needed to lead Lean and Agile transformation within an organization at the Team, Program, and Portfolio levels. 

The training program equips Architects, pivotal roles at the intersection of strategy and execution, with the tools and techniques necessary to support the development, deployment, and evolution of valuable solutions in response to business needs. Course attendees will learn techniques to integrate architecture and development across the various stages of the Agile solution lifecycle, coordinating activities between different teams and organizational levels while making decisions that also meet non-functional requirements. 

By passing the final exam, participants will have gained all the essential knowledge to be key players in corporate transformation in a SAFe context.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Understand the role of the Architect within the business transformation process.
  • Learn how to integrate architecture at various stages of the Agile solution lifecycle, from conception to deployment and management.
  • Guide Architects in coordinating architectural solutions between different teams and organizational levels.
  • Make architectural decisions that respect non-functional requirements like security, resilience, performance, and maintainability.
  • Prepare Architects to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, development teams, and other professionals to ensure consistent and business-aligned architectural visions.

  • Agile Architecture: principles, roles, characteristics. Aligning architecture to business strategy.
  • The Continuous Delivery Pipeline: Continuous Exploration, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Release on Demand.
  • Architecture and Business Value: Influence of the Portfolio Canvas and Portfolio Vision on solution architecture.
  • Development of Solution Vision, Solution Intent, and Roadmaps.
  • Non-functional requirements and Lean Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Planning and execution of Program Increments (PI).
  • Continuous improvement: Iteration Review, Solution Demo, Inspect and Adapt (I&A).

The course is for professionals who want to design high-quality solutions to address specific business challenges or meet certain customer needs. It is specifically tailored for:

  • Solution Architect, System Architect;
  • Scrum Master, Agile Coach;
  • Senior Software Developer, Technical Manager.

Everyone is welcome to attend the course, regardless of experience. However, the following prerequisites are highly recommended:

  • Having previously attended one of the SAFe courses.
  • Having participated in at least one ART (Agile Release Train) and one PI (Program Increment).
  • Proficiency in the English language.

TRAINER

Giacomo Caturegli

The course is led by Giacomo Caturegli, entrepreneur, investor, and solutions architect. Involved in IT since 1994, in 2005, together with Federico Gulletta, he founded the software consulting and development company Hermes Trade, now Hermes Corporate. With a rich international background, Giacomo Caturegli has worked in various industrial sectors, such as petrochemical, energy, logistics, aviation, construction, fashion. As a certified SAFe trainer (SPC), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP-SM), and Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), he now promotes the values and principles of Lean and Agile methodologies for the growth of company teams and professionals.
